How do I get a copy of a fire or medical report?
Fire reports are generally available forty–eight (48) hours from the first business day following an incident. You can obtain a copy of your report by
contacting the Fire and Rescue Department directly. Due to recent laws concerning patient confidentially, only the patient or his/her legal guardian may
be given a copy of any patient care reports. Subpoenas for documents are handled through the Town Offices.
How do I get a burn
permit and how much does it cost?
You must apply in person for a burning permit at the Town Offices or Emergency Service Building; (10 S. Faithful/400 Yellowstone Avenue). Cost of a
permit is $5.00; a building contractor may purchase an annual permit for $25.00. All burning must be in compliance with Town Ordinance 182, available at
the time you purchase the permit. Permits may be suspended or revoked at any time when conditions warrant. Permit holders are always require to contact
the police dispatcher (646–7600) before starting a fire. Click here for

Where can I go to get my blood pressure checked?
The staff for the Fire and Rescue Department will check your blood pressure free of charge. Do not hesitate to stop by the main fire station located at
400 Yellowstone Avenue any time.
I have property inside the Town limits. Do I have an ISO rating?
The Town of West Yellowstone is constantly working on improving its ISO rating. The current ISO rating is a 7.
If I locked my
keys in the car, will you send the firefighters to help unlock it?
The Fire and Rescue Department will only respond in an emergency situation, for example, if a child or animal is locked inside. If it is not an
emergency, you must contact a local locksmith.
How can I become a Volunteer or Auxiliary Member of the West Yellowstone Fire &
Emergency Services Department?
At any time, any person who is interested may apply to become a member. Please call 406-646-9094 or stop by the department at 400 Yellowstone Avenue and

Does the Fire and
Rescue Department remove cats from trees, telephone poles, or roofs?
The Fire and Rescue Department does not provide this service, but we can suggest opening a can of tuna, placing it on the ground, and waiting for the cat
to come down.
